Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Just checking in to say hello and let you know what's going on.

I am producing a great project in the studio with Folk Master - Matt Doherty. We are keeping it real and raw. The sounds are really coming together and we are having a blast!

If you checked my calendar you saw that I am heading to Copenhagen in September. I will actually be there in August through early Sept. and beforehand I will be traveling with my "manpanion" from the Middle East trough the Czech Republic, Germany and Holland on our way to Copenhagen. A trip of a lifetime!

Before all of that happens though, we have a bunch of shows in Southern California including my house concert series "The Saturday Evening Social Club" with plenty of amazing artists and The Lauren Adams Trio. This season we have booked - Ali Handal and her Magician Husband Andrew Goldenhersh, from Nashville - Amelia White with an American Music Circle in the middle featuring - Grant Langston, Merrily Webber and Ben Carr, Debbie Hennessey opens for Queen Cake - Debra Dobkin, Teresa James and Billy Watts
and this year's song-o-rama - Amy Engelhardt, Gary Stockdale and Cynthia Carle. Whoo. This is going to be a greta season!

June 10th we will be a Coddy Nuckols "Live from the A Frame House Concert, June 17th Kulak's Woodshed with Michaut/Perkins.

Anyhoo...you can see all of those in the calendar and on FB in Events.

Hope you;re well and happy and....see you at show soon!
Love,

Hello evrahbuddy! I hope you are well and happy!! I am. I just returned from the Folk Alliance International Conference 2017. This year was so great. The conference was well organized and energized. I played a couple of showcases rooms but I decided to go a little late and missed getting more but I must say....I got people in from the hallways to come on in the room and that's a plus for me! The programs and panels were pretty, pretty amazing. The opening ceremonies and awards were stellar and the exhibition hall was really cool. I was able to hang out with the mighty, might Bill Wence from Bill Wence Promotions and John Dillion, Vivian Nesbitt and Katie Mitchell from The Standing O Project both of whom I work with . I also got to know Dalis Allen from the Kerrville Folk Festival on many rides to our hotel room floor and at the exhibition table, picked up some new strings from DS Strings (amazing) and got some new nickle wound strings from D'Addario to try out (hoping for that old school sound again!) as well as a new soundhole tuner. I had a nice chat wilth the Gig Salad people who were a big sponsor of the conference abiout their services and heard AMAZING LIVE MUSIC DAY AND NIGHT!!!! Whew. I am exhausted again. Fritz and I had a blast and got to eat lots of BBQ in Kansas City. When in Rome...Yum.

i am making plans to head to Far-West in October but first a trip to Oklahoma to Woody Fest in July! SO much to do....so much music!!

Hey everyone. I have a couple of announcements today!
First of all I want to let you all know that I am working out of my new studio right now! I'm so excited about it! Things are still developing and I am getting settled in but so far, so good. I am of course, still recording voiceover demos and coaching actors to help them be great voiceover artists! I am also looking forward to peace, solitude and to making the perfect environment to create music.
I will also be starting a new Youtube series soon with acoustic performances by yours truly and whoever drops by!
And then, I wanted to share Henry with y'all! I have just put up a single here entitled "Henry (From Saginaw, MI)" It's a song about Henry who on Christmas morning receives his very first guitar and then....the rest of his life ensues! I hope you enjoy it. We have been playing this song live for a few years now. Originally, this song was released only to our friends from the original Indiegogo Campaign at Christmas but now, I think we should share it with you! This song features the amazing and talented people I get to work with (Lucky!) all the time and of course my friend and producer Nick Kirgo is at the helm.
Acoustic Guitar/Vocal-Lauren
Electric Guitar - Nick Kirgo
Bass- Mark Pocket Goldberg
Drums-Debra Dobkin
Background Vocals-Gary Stockdale
I hope to see you soon at a show or maybe in line at the grocery store. Wherever we meet....it'll be a good day!

Rebirth, renewal and warm weather! Awe yeah. We are so blessed in California to have such great weather, most of the time!
I have been writing a lot lately and recording demos with Nick Kirgo at his studio. He is a beautiful producer (no really, he s quite good looking) and a fantastic guitarist and friend. We have lots of giggles, working together and I'm pretty happy with our output. You can check out the last three right here on my page!
My songpluggers - Sharp Objects in NAshville have been doing great work for me so I am just trying to keep them coming.
Looking forward to the Next Americana Music Circle at Genghis Cohen on June 11th with The Damngivers and one more band TBA. We hope we can get some more people to show up there as we want to make this our new home. Have some Chinese food and Americana Music....right?
Hope to see you at a show soon.

...the rain is coming down! Los Angeles and San Bernadino Counties are really under the weather !! Snow at 3000 feet and floods down in the basin. Still the Gods aligned and we had a totally dry ride to Hermosa Beachand back last night! It was really fun and it was really wonderful to hear Jodi Seigel and Alfred Johnson jam together and trade songs.
There are a lot more storms coming and it is going to get dangerous up at the snow levels because the next storm on the 24th is going to have a lot of warm air.
For the week of the 24th, we will be hit with a powerful and WARM series of storms, as strong as any we've seen. This heavy warm rainfall will fall onto the newly laid snowpack and what will be totally saturated ground, especially in the burn areas of LA and will produce tremendous melting and runoff, and the potential for record flooding.
Due to the low altitude of the jet stream, 200+ mph winds will slam directly into the Sierras, producing tornado strength winds over a 200 mile wide front. DON'T head to Mammoth for skiing when you hear about the huge snow fall in the first week. A friend of Scott's is a Navy weather forecaster and he told Scott that the military is moving assets east out of the way ahead of this storm. Planes and helicopters are migrating out of the coastal bases and into the interior bases of Arizona and Nevada. They're taking this very seriously.
This may sound alarmist, but websites I check related to weather modeling are using the word "Biblical" for this system.
If you can work from home or commute by train, please plan on doing so. The LA freeway system is going to be a mess for the next week or two.
Take care out there people!!!!
Love,
Lauren

.....Rain all day.....
Hello everyone. I am at home in L.A. during a huge Pacific Rain Storm. What fun! It doesn't rain here in the"deserty" terrain of Los Angeles so when it does it is most welcome. A little thunder and lightening helps to set the mood. Yep, the mood to write songs! I am in writing mode today and hope to come up with some good stuff for ya'll. I am also hoping that the people here in the burn areas are faring well and that the mudslides are not harming them.
Not touring much lately but still have my gigs in L.A. and love playing with my band here at home. I hope your new year has started off well.
Please remember to help the people of Haiti if you can. They are in horrible distress and need help. We are not on this earth to judge, to isolate or to blame anyone for such a horrible disaster. Please look into your heart and donate through the Red Cross or another reputable agency. With your help and resources, the people of Haiti can be saved to rebuild their lives and homes.
I hope to see you at a show or on the web next month at Kulak's! We are going to have a regular FOLKFEST on teh 26th! www.kulakswoodshed.com

I had a bad night last night. I am having trouble sleeping. Went to the doctor. She was basically useless;) Anyway, I am up and having coffee and ready for my day and evening. The thing is......I woke up and immediately started in on the computer, I have now been here an hour! That is not cool. I'm only writing this to purge myself of the guilt of being addicted to facebook and email....I MUST CHANGE!! So my friends, I will be monitoring my computer usage, meditating more and creating more so that my life is not wasted in "The Internets!"
I will continue to write to you though....you....hmmmm....nobody's really reading this. Alas, the self obsession of being me has kicked in once again.
Have a lovely day...I love you!

Lauren Adamstag:laurenadams.com,2005:Post/60686672009-08-16T12:00:00-12:002016-02-24T00:37:22-12:00Myspace Is Dying!

OK...so, Yes, I use Myspace. Well, sort of. I have been a member since March 3rd 2005 but that was when FANS came around to hear your music and pass your stuff on to other fans who might enjoy it too. No more...all I ever get is "Hey You. Add my band. We're playing a show in Dry Itch, AZ on Feb 3 2012. People are not playing my songs...maybe 20 or so a day from 100 + a day, it's just about amassing a ton of "friends" to impress....someone...I don't know who. I guess some of these bands actually think they may get a deal or something.....dunno......not fun anymore.....don't care. Most musicians I know have facebook oages and are able to control who becomes a "friend" and not just a mass mailing bot!
I don't want to be negative but I guess this may be just that. Negative-Myspace....backwards....bizzaro world. Hey...maybe there will be a NEW social networking site soon and we can start all over. Look...if Tom Delaty can go on Dancing WIth the Stars...anything can happen!!!
Talk soon.

Hello everyone. Last night we debuted a live version of The Ballad of June Big Lee at Mark "Pocket" Goldberg's Songwriter Showcase with a fantastic reception. I'm very proud of our wok on this song. It was a dream...a dream that wouldn't let go of my brain until I wrote it down and put it to music. June Bug had a rough time and she shared it all with me. I guess there was something on my mind when I had this dream, subconsciously thinking about the financial problems we are all trying to stave off or deal with.
So, please click on the music button here and download The Ballad of June Bug Lee for free and let me know what you think!
Looking forward to hearing from ya'll!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 6, 2008
Los Angeles, CA: L.A.’s own, Lauren Adams, continues her new album
tour across the U.S. deep into the “Secret Heart†of Texas. A vital
part of the regional music scene, Adams independently released her
latest CD, “Secret Heart†to Triple A, Roots and Americana radio
formats, and is currently on tour. Following up her special appearance at
The Mint, Lauren is set to perform select CA gigs before she heads
south. Fittingly, Lauren’s family roots run through Texas and her
affection for the Lone Star state peeks through on the “Same Moon†track
from her new CD.
Adams’ fusion of rock, folk, country and blues has been gaining
critical acclaim across the country: KNBA (AK), KCSN (CA), WIKX (FL), KFAN
(TX), KCAW (AK), KSYM (TX), Public Radio East (NC), and Radio Crystal
Blue (internet show). Laurie Joulie of Take Country Back magazine
writes, “Superb, intelligent, thought provoking songs. Real songs for real
people . . . ‘Secret Heart’ not only begs to be heard, it deserves
it!†The title track for “Secret Heart†also received Honorable
Mention at the 2007 International Songwriting Competition.
As host/producer of the long running Americana Music Circle (at
Kulak’s Woodshed), Lauren has shared the stage with some of the greatest
talent from every corner of the globe. In addition to this, Adams is
passionately involved in raising money for local charitable organizations.
She just played Grassroots Acoustica 10: Friends of the L.A. River
benefit at Lulu’s Beehive in Sherman Oaks, CA, and also at
Hallenbeck’s General Store, North Hollywood, CA, to benefit Hep C Aware
(Hepatitis C awareness group).
Lauren kicked off her tour in Anchorage, AK, and has been playing
special shows throughout the Pacific Northwest. After her run through
Texas, Adams will hit various venues across the U.S., including her native
FL stomping grounds. Despite the challenges that indie artists have to
endure while touring, Lauren loves to perform and gives her all to
audiences. Her “Secret Heart†tour is one secret you’ll want to be
in on.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 4, 2008
AWARD WINNING ARTIST, LAUREN ADAMS, INDEPENDENTLY RELEASES NEW AMERICANA/ROOTS ROCK CD “SECRET HEARTâ€
Los Angeles, CA: Award winning artist, Lauren Adams, independently releases her new Americana/Roots Rock CD, “Secret Heartâ€. On L.A.’s indie music scene, Lauren Adams has developed a reputation for giving her heart and soul to her writing: a fusion of rock, folk, country, and blues. Her sound is undeniably unique, but others have dubbed Lauren as “Lucinda Williams meets The Eaglesâ€.
Lauren’s latest album, “Secret Heartâ€, is her third, and is already garnering attention in the music industry. The title track “Secret Heart†just received Honorable Mention at the 2007 International Songwriting Competition.
Laurie Joulie of Take Country Back magazine wrote, “Superb, intelligent, thought-provoking songs. Real songs for real people wrapped in melodies that promise to capture, inspire and pull the listener in again and again. Songwriters of Lauren Adams’ level are few and far between. ‘Secret Heart’ not only begs to be heard, it deserves it!â€
With the stellar writing and musicianship on the CD, it’s no secret as to why. Produced by guitar veteran Nicholas Newell Kirgo, the album is a virtual who’s who of the L.A. music scene. Kirgo and Adams provide extraordinary guitar work along with the likes of David Sutton (Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman) laying down bass, Gary Mallaber (Steve Miller Band, Eddie Money, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen), Lynn “Skins†Coulter manning the drums, John “JT†Thomas (Bruce Hornsby) rounding things out on keyboards, and Jessie Valenzuela (Gin Blossoms) on harmonica.
As host/producer of the long running Americana Music Circle (at Kulak’s Woodshed), Lauren has shared the stage with some of the greatest talent from every corner of the globe. Her previous work, “Thirsty†was featured in the film, Peaceful Warrior (Lion’s Gate) starring Nick Nolte. Adams is also actively involved in raising money for various local charitable organizations, including Hep C Aware (Hepatitis C awareness group).
Her 2008 U.S. & European tours are scheduled to coincide with the official release of “Secret Heartâ€. Lauren kicks off her world tour in Anchorage, Alaska at the end of February. Full tour dates and venues will be posted on her website.
Lauren Adams’ CD, “Secret Heart†is available for purchase at CD Baby, iTunes, Yahoo Music, Best Buy, Rhapsody, MSN Music, DigStation, and select regional music stores.

Kirgo and Adams provide extraordinary guitar work along with the likes of David Sutton (Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman) laying down bass, Gary Mallaber (Steve Miller Band, Eddie Money, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen) manning the drums, John “JT†Thomas (Bruce Hornsby) rounding things out on keyboards, and Jesse Valenzuela (Gin Blossoms) on harmonica.
“You'll find her exploring the well-worn American inland where folk, blues and gospel predominate . . . a husky voice admits to disappointment, but tough guitar strokes and bright piano convey the strength to survive.†-Sean Piccoli, Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel
Lauren Adams just received two honorable mentions at this year’s International Songwriting Competition for both “Thirsty†and “Secret Heartâ€. “Thirsty†was also recently featured in the Lion's Gate movie, Peaceful Warrior, starring Nick Nolte. The "Secret Heart" track was written exclusively for an improvised film in the works, The Canvas. Adams is actively involved in raising money for local charitable organizations including, Children of the Night (rescues runaway teens in Hollywood) and Hep C Aware (Hepatitis C awareness group), and benefits for fellow musicians in need of health care just to name a few.
On October 6th, tune in at 8:00AM PST to hear Lauren on KCSN-88.5FM in L.A. during Larry Wine’s “Tied to the Tracks†radio show. The show will also stream live on their website at: www.kcsn.org
Her U.S. & European tours are scheduled for early 2008 to coincide with the official release of the new album, “Secret Heartâ€.
Advance copies of the Lauren Adams CD, “Secret Heart†will soon be available for purchase at CD Baby, iTunes, Yahoo Music, Best Buy, Rhapsody, MSN Music, and DigStation.

Hye everyone....Thanks for everything! Here's a way to pre-order the latest CD!
As many of you know, the last year has been spent working on my latest recording project with my new producer – Nick Kirgo. Nick’s vision and insight into my music – as well as his passionate artistry on the guitar – has made this recent collection of songs everything I have ever dreamed of. The result – the Muse has been awakened and my writing continues to explode onto the page as we continue to gather resources to professionally mix, master, duplicate, and properly promote before setting an official release date.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your generosity, support, patience, and dream weaving with me. Whether you have known me my whole life, or recently met me, you are receiving this letter because you understand my passion about my music and have in some way expressed support for that passion. I am hopeful that you will continue to support me and my music in the coming year by attending gigs, purchasing my CDs, buying my music online, spreading the word to friends who may live in cities where I am playing, schedule a house concert for me to play at your residence or event, and generally continue to help promote my passion.
In order to make this project the best it can be, I am exploring other ways to produce a CD that has been proven successful for other independent artists. Several different levels of sponsorship and options for contributing are shown below.
Whether or not you choose to sponsor or contribute, please know I am sincerely moved by the outpouring of love and support I receive from you, my family, fans, friends, and followers. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have had the courage to step off the edge this past year and dive into this music mission of mine. I am excited at the prospect of taking the next steps and look forward to continuing this journey with you.
Thank you all so very much,
Lauren

____I will serve as a host for a House Concert.
What is a house concert?
This is when a professional musician comes into someone's home and provides an evening of entertainment to those invited. Chairs are set up for seating, or some hosts have other accommodations. Sometimes a "house concert" is held in a local senior center or cafe that can accommodate about 50 to 75 people.
Artist will perform for a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of three hours. Artist will bring CDs and merchandise to sell and some to raffle off or give away as door prizes. (For more information, see: www.concertsinyourhome.com; www.houseconcert.us)
Is there an admission charge? How are the performers paid? Usually a "donation" is charged at the door. The money collected goes to the performer with a percentage going to the host, depending on arrangements made ahead of time. The performers like the setting since the audience is attentive and appreciative of the intimacy of the performance.
____I have resources to offer in the way of studio time, publishing, promotion via print, radio or TV. Please contact me for further discussion.

Thanks to all my friends and especially my fans for making this a fantastic music year! I am honored that you come to see me play and that you still tolerate my pounding emails. You would be sirprised by what a tiny bit of encourgement does for us indies!
I am also sending you this holiday request. Please treat each other kindly. We are all one people on this planet and intolerence and belligerent denial seem to have crept into everyone's consciousness and actions in the last few years. I too struggle with acceptance of those people I don't know or understand, that seems natural but I try to have an openmind. One thing I have deducted in recent years too is...I don't have to like you but....I HAVE to love you! Peace on Earth Now and Forever!
Love,

Here's our press release for our 3rd Annual Internet Telethon on Oct 21st.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Kelly Zirbes (818)769-2701
HepatitisCAware@aol.com
National Hepatitis C Spokesperson Kelly Zirbes
Announces 3rd Annual “Hep C Aware†Telethon
Raising Awareness of Hepatitis C
Live on Alternative.nu and KVMD TV October 21!
WHAT: HEP C AWARE – THE INTERNET TELETHON
WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 2006
TIME: 12 – 8 pm PST
WHERE: www.hepcaware.org, www.alternative.nu, KVMD TV
WHY: To raise awareness of Hepatitis C
WHO: Musical artists, comedians, doctors and interviews with people living with Hepatitis C
National spokesperson for Hep C Aware and The Hepatitis C Caring Ambassadors Program (HCCAP) has announced the 3rd Annual “Hep C Aware†Telethon to air over the Internet and on KVMD TV Channel 23, Saturday, October 21, 2006. The Telethon is the signature event of the partnership between Hep C Aware, www.HepCAware.org and HCCAP, www.HepChallenge.org , both non-profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness of Hepatitis C. This event will be live on Alternative.nu for eight hours, on TV in Southern California for two hours and will feature musical performances by over 20 bands, comedians and medical experts as well as special guests and featured spots about Hepatitis C throughout the entire event.
This major event will be hosted by Kelly Zirbes, Alfie Martin, Mary White M.D. and special guests and will feature performances by some of the industry’s most celebrated artists. Already on board are legendary MC5 founder and guitarist Wayne Kramer, comedian Courtney Cronin and special guest comics, blues rocker Peach, female-fronted guitar rockers Kanary, Malibu’s Big Dume, Paperback Hero, Eden Automatic, Deb Pasternak, Scott Detweiler, Analog In, Hard Luck Story, Keaton Simons, Lauren Adams, Malea McGuinness and Kelly's Lot.
The idea for the Telethon was born 3 years after Kelly Zirbes began raising awareness of Hepatitis C to honor her friend Gioia, who lost her battle with the disease. During that time Kelly produced benefits and shows all over the country with the help of other musicians interested in making a difference. After hosting a online Music Video show on Alternative.nu Kelly realized that the internet was the perfect tool to quickly and efficiently raise awareness and provide information about this silent epidemic. In 2004, Zirbes founded HepCAware.org and created the Telethon to do just that. With the help of Alternative.nu and the Hepatitis C Caring Ambassadors Program the telethon has also become a voice for those affected by Hepatitis C.
Hepatitis C is a systemic blood borne virus that primarily attacks the liver. One in 50 Americans have HCV yet two out of three of them do not know it. There is no vaccine for Hepatitis C. You may have been exposed to Hepatitis C and should get tested if you have: received blood, blood products, or an organ transplant prior to 1992, ever shared drug, paraphernalia, either by injecting or snorting, ever been stuck by a used blood needle, been on kidney dialysis, had a tattoo or body piercing, had sexual activity that involves contact with blood, shared personal care items(razors, toothbrushes, etc.) with other people, been incarcerated or are a war veteran (especially Vietnam).

Hey. You know when you fly on the airplane and then you have to wait in the second airport for about 4 hours to take a one hour flight home and you want to keel over and/or kill everyone in site? Oh...you don't? N'kay. Anyhoo...I made it home from Texas with a hideous cold and lots of great memories including going to Saxon's Pub and watching Stephen Bruton's show. An all-star jam it was! www.stephenbruton.com Now...back here on earth for another phase of recording!
See yuh!

Hey all ya'll. I just got back from John M.'s studio (www.johnm.com) and from singing background vocals on one of his songs. The studio is awesome! I was in good company with Lisa Nemzo, Andrea Louise, Garret Swayne and Steve Brooks and Kevin Longdon. Anyway...it was really fun and the song is titled "I Believe In America". So do I. That's all you need to know!

Good day everyone! Great news! The song Thirsty, written by Lauren Adams, Matthew Niblock and Richard Masur will be featured in the new Lion's Gate Film "PEACEFUL WARRIOR"! The release date is sometime in April and we are all honored to be involved with the film. This movie is based on the book written by Dan Millman (www.danmillman.com). "Blending fact and fiction, the story relates an odyssey into realms of light and shadow, romance, and mystery. Guided by an eccentric old warrior named Socrates, drawn to an elusive young woman called Joy, Dan moves toward a final confrontation that will deliver or destroy him." The character of "Socrates" is played by Nick Nolte and the film is directed by renouned director Victor Salva ("Powder", Jeepers Creepers").
Hope you get a chance to see it!
Give a good day!
