Crazy Aunt Mary and Kelly’s Lot to Host Fund Raising Concert at Rusty’s Surf Ranch
SANTA MONICA, California – Michelle Holmes of Crazy Aunt Mary and Kelly Z of Kelly’s Lot will be hosting a concert to benefit Madalyn Sklar, founder of GoGirls Music, at Rusty’s Surf Ranch on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Crazy Aunt Mary and Kelly’s Lot will be joined by Lauren Adams and Dig Jelly to raise funds for Sklar’s recovery from surgery.
“Madalyn Sklar is an inspirational music coach and speaker and has helped further women’s independent music everywhere,†explained Holmes. “This is the first performance for our drummer Doug Forsyth since his car accident last summer. She supported Doug after his accident, and Doug and our band would like to give back to Madalyn however we can.â€

Crazy Aunt Mary encompasses three award-winning virtuoso musicians including Holmes, Forsyth, and Steve Pinkney who perform their own eclectic, acoustic-driven folk rock and blues. Sean Wiggins is an award-winning, prolific singer/songwriter and performer who kicks with her own brand of country rock.
Fronted by Kelly Z, with support of fine musicians such as Perry Robertson, Kelly’s Lot is an acclaimed roadhouse rock and blues band known all over the country. Kelly Z also heads the Hepatitis C Awareness Foundation (http://www.hepcaware.org) and puts on a yearly telethon to raise money for the cause.
Lauren Adams and her band will be playing Americana music, a fusion of rock, country, and blues. “Lauren is a mainstay in the Los Angeles songwriting community, as well as a producer, and hosts the monthly show, "The Americana Music Circle" (www.americanmusicacircle.com) in Hollywood, booking local and touring acts as well as performing in her own special version of the Song Circle,†noted Holmes.
Dig Jelly is a Los Angeles-based band fronted by Rayko, who is accompanied by Joey Felix on drums, Robby Lochner on lead guitar, and Rain Balen on bass. Dig Jelly is signed with Centerline Entertainment and has recently played 35 shows in a national tour. “This band’s energy and performance power are guaranteed to bring down the house!†said Holmes.
The show is for all ages and admission is $5 (all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Sklar). Tickets are available at the door. Rusty’s has great food as well as great music!
